An Apology, An Update, and What's To Come

First and foremost, I want to say, again, I am sorry for my absence lately. Life has been very hectic lately, and will soon be getting even crazier!

Every year, as the school year comes to an end, we start to get very busy preparing for the following school year, making sure everyone's doctor appointments are made and kept, IEP and 504 meeting appointments are made and kept, and, weather permitting, getting outside and playing and planting in our garden!

That said, I would also like to take a moment to apologize in advance for any future blogging days I miss! Just in the next two weeks we have the following appointments to do!

  • Tonight is Mackenzie's parent teacher conference
  • Thursday is Lenny's pediatrician check up appointment
  • Next Tuesday is Lenny's endocrinology appointment (praying for a lower A1C!)
  • Next Thursday we have to take Mackenzie to Wexford, PA to see a Dr. at Children's Hospital
  • Next Friday is the review for Lenny's IEP/504 and to start getting things set up for him for next year.
Will we find time to play outside? Hopefully! That is, of course, if it stops raining! LOL!

Happy 6th Birthday Lenny!!
This week, we celebrated Lenny's 6th birthday! I can't believe it was 6 years ago that I gave birth to this beautiful, intelligent baby boy!

This year for his birthday, we decided to really surprise him!

Uh huh, that's right.... REAL CUPCAKES!!

Not to mention, the very special gift we all helped to get him....

A WII!!!

For the last several weeks, he has been begging for a Wii! He even went as far as to say "I want a Wii for my birthday, because I think Mom would like it!" HAHAHAHAHA! Lil stinker!

Well, after playing with it today while the kids were in school, I must say... yep, he was right! Mom does like it! LOL! Though, I have to admit, that thing made me realize just how out of shape I really am! My arm STILL hurts from playing it (or maybe its from playing it for 3 solid hours? LOL)

Yeah, we definitely need to get a second controller, like ASAP! LOL! I can't believe how addictive this thing is!

Anywho... I wanted to share some of what is going on in our life recently with you all. Here are a few more pictures from Lenny's birthday. I just wish my camera batteries didn't die just as soon as he pulled the Wii out of the gift bag! The look on his face was truly PRICELESS!!

I'm not peeking!

MMMM This cupcake is GOOD!

Lenny and Mackenzie eating cupcakes!

Savoring every morsel LOL!

Now, just so you all know, as I said earlier, things are getting pretty crazy around here with everyone's schedules. That said, I may be a little behind on things like our Weekly Featured T1-ers. On the weeks that I get behind on that, though, the following week I will be sure to have TWO featured T1-ers posted that week. Hopefully, even with this crazy schedule, I won't get much more behind than that! Please bear with me on this though. Summertime is always very hectic for us, and this year it will be even more hectic as now both Lenny and Mackenzie go to school and both have an IEP, plus I have a feeling there will be a lot more Wexford doctor appointments for Mackenzie in the near future. Not to mention our fundraising and T1 awareness raising efforts, Diabetes Walk coming up soon,  and trying to enjoy the summer vacation with the kids!

If you or someone you know would like to be scheduled to be our Featured T1-er (can be an adult living with T1, or a mommy raising a child with T1) and share your story with us, please feel free to email me at T1DTeamLenny@Gmail.com with the subject title "Featured T1-er"

I am still searching for giveaways and product reviews! If you have a home based business, or work with a company that sells a great product (corporation/brick 'n mortar, or otherwise), and would like to have me do a product giveaway or product review, please feel free to email me at T1DTeamLenny@Gmail.com with the subject title "Product Reveiw/Giveaway" and I will be more than happy to discuss things with you!

Have a great day!!

Love the pics! Happy birthday to him! Your appointment schedule sounds like ours, except with the hubby it's specialist after specialist for check ups!
